Leverstock Green Curry night in Hemel Hempstead

Bit of a strange one this….. And i don’t mean catering for a curry night… This is one of our popular meals and we often find ourselves providing curries or chillies for hot buffet catering in Hertfordshire. Hot buffet catering is so popular and we are providing hot bowl food for all sorts of occasions from corporate event catering, Birthday parties and also funerals.
Tonight we were catering in Leverstock Green in Hemel Hempstead. The occasion is not a special event but Sharron is having a ladies night for her and a group of friends who have found themselves husbandless for the weekend. The lads have all gone Austria for a long weekend skiing in the Alps and left their loved ones home alone on Valentine’s Day. But fourteen lonely wives have decided to have knees up and a day to remember for themselves.
The girls had booked a stretch limo and headed off to a very well known beauty and health spa near Tring and all got pampered for the day with an array of pampers and treatments. They returned home to Sharron’s house in the late afternoon sipping champagne as they enjoyed the limo ride home.
We were given the keys to the house and let ourselves in about mid afternoon and started preparing an Indian feast of curries, breads, poppadoms and chutneys and relishes.
The girls arrived home about six o’clock and the party started!!
There was a knock on the door and the evening entertainment had arrived. An Indian “Elvis” had arrived in a white star spangled onesie kind of suit and set himself up in the corner of the living room and started to play a play list of popular Elvis songs. The girls were dancing and singing and the entertainment was a huge hit.
We had set up a buffet table with crisp linen and gleaming stainless steel heated chafing dishes to serve the curries and accompanants. The girls first tucked into popadoms with some lovely homemade chutneys and relishes as the starters. We had made four curries for the evening ranging from a nice creamy korma to a rather hot and spicy jalfrezi and side dishes as well.
The whole evening was a huge success and the girls really enjoyed their ladies day. Most were saying they should make it an annual event….. A bit of peace and quiet with no husbands to get in the way!!
